Welcome to the Throne Room!

Hey Kingdom Builder,

Welcome back to the throne room. We’re so glad you’re here! We’ve been reflecting on something that doesn’t get talked about enough in faith-based entrepreneurship: operations. Not the cute part of building, we know. But here’s the truth: If you don’t have systems in place when God blesses you with growth, you’ll struggle to steward what He’s given you well.

This week, we’re diving into what it looks to build operationally sound businesses while keeping God as our CEO. Because obedience without structure is just good intentions, but structure without obedience? That’s just corporate hustle in Christian clothing.

Word from the Throne

When God Calls You to Build: Lessons from Nehemiah

“So I answered them and said, ‘The God of heaven will give us success; therefore we His servants will arise and build...”’ — Nehemiah 2:20

Nehemiah wasn’t just a pray-and-hope kind of guy and we love that for him. When God called him to rebuild Jerusalem’s walls, he didn’t just show up with good vibes and faith confessions. He showed up with a plan.

Before Nehemiah laid a single brick, he:

  • Inspected the walls at night to assess what needed to be done (Nehemiah 2:13-15)

  • Organized the workers by families and assigned specific sections (Nehemiah 3)

  • Anticipated opposition and created security systems (Nehemiah 4:9)

  • Established sustainable rhythms so the work could continue (Nehemiah 4:21-23)

Here’s what we love about Nehemiah’s story: his faith didn’t replace his need for systems, it informed them. He prayed AND he planned. He trusted God AND he organized his team. He believed in divine favor AND he did the practical work of project management.

Too often, we treat operations like it's separate from our spiritual life. We'll fast and pray over a business launch, but we won't create an operations manual. We'll ask God for provision, but we won't track our expenses. We'll believe God for growth, but we won't build systems that can scale.

But here's the reality: God blesses what we steward well.

When your business starts growing like wildfire (and it will when you're walking in obedience), you need to have foundations in place. You need to know who does what, when, and how. You need processes that don't depend on you remembering everything. You need systems that honor both the people you serve and the resources God's entrusted to you.

Nehemiah completed the wall in 52 days—not because he prayed harder than everyone else, but because he partnered with God strategically. He built from the throne room out, not the ground up. Every decision started with "The God of heaven will give us success," but it was followed by organized, intentional action.

Today's reminder: Obedience without structure is just good intentions. God is calling you to be both prayerful AND prepared.

Authority in Action: Making God Your CEO (For Real)

It's easy to say "God is my CEO" on Instagram captions. It's another thing entirely to actually operate that way in your day-to-day business decisions.

So what does it practically look like to have God as your CEO?

1) Consult Him before you move

You wouldn't make a major business decision without running it by your CEO in a corporate job, right? Same energy here. Before launching that new offer, hiring that team member, or pivoting your strategy—take it to God first.

One of our founders shared: "Anytime I try to put myself in the position of head strategist and come up with ideas without Him, I end up having to start at square one anyway."

Schedule literal meetings with God. Put it on your Google Calendar (or calendar of choice). Bring your notebook. Come with your agenda: "Lord, I need help with this pricing strategy. What do You think about this hire? Should I take this opportunity?"

2) Let Him Guide your operations, not just your vision

God doesn't just care about the big spiritual moments. He cares about your expense tracking, your team communication, your customer service systems—all of it.

As we shared in our latest podcast episode, administration is actually listed as a spiritual gift in scripture (Romans 12:6-8, 1 Corinthians 12:28). The ability to create order, organize teams, and build systems? That's from God too.

3) Build systems that honor the assignment

When God gives you a dream, He's also equipping you with the wisdom to steward it. That means:

  • Creating SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) so your team knows how to execute your vision

  • Documenting your processes so when someone leaves, you're not starting from scratch

  • Building financial systems that honor biblical principles of stewardship

  • Establishing boundaries that protect your peace and your purpose

4) Remember: It’s His, not yours

In our latest episode, Cee put it perfectly: "a remnant. came to me in a dream. I can't give myself a dream. So when I talk about a remnant., there's no not talking about God."

When you remember that every business idea, every breakthrough, every client is from Him, it changes how you operate. You steward differently. You pray differently. You build differently.

This week, ask yourself: What would change in my business if I truly operated like God was my CEO? What decisions would I make differently? What systems would I prioritize?
